Our Team

With a desire to see healthy churches change the spiritual landscape of our communities, Greg Wiens launched Healthy Growing Churches in February, 2011.  This tribe of like-minded Kingdom builders is a network of church leaders asking not “What can I get” but “What can I give?”


Greg Wiens, Founder & Chief Catalyst

Greg started Healthy Growing Churches in 2006 with four other leaders who were committed to making a greater impact together than they could apart.

Greg serves as the Chief Catalyst for HGC. With over 35 years of experience, Greg has developed ten different assessments in a variety of fields, which he has used as a consultant for corporations, public schools and churches.  Greg has served as visiting Assistant Professor of Education at the University of Central Florida and as an Associate Professor at Warner Southern College and as the former state pastor for Florida Church of God.

Greg graduated from University of Michigan with a BS in Industrial and Operations.  Greg received his Master of Divinity at Anderson University School of Theology and was awarded his Doctorate of Education from the University of Central Florida in psychometrics.

Greg has been married to his wonderful wife Mary Kay for over 35 years.  They have three children and six grandchildren.


Dave Vogelpohl, Organizational Leader

Dave serves as Organizational Leader for Healthy Growing Churches, as well as founder and president of Excellerate Solutions.

With over 30-years of experience with Fortune 500 companies, Dave has developed exceptional experience in areas of research and development, manufacturing, sales, international operations and general management with profit and loss responsibility.

Dave holds a B.S. degree from University of Missouri at Rolla and a M.S. degree from Purdue University.

Dave lives in Orlando, FL with his wife (for over 38 years) Ann.  He has three children and three grandchildren who also reside in Orlando.


Melissa Olinger, Executive Assistant to Dr. Gregory Wiens

Melissa recently joined Healthy Growing Churches where she serves as the Executive Admin to Dr. Gregory Wiens.

Melissa has over 17 years of sales and marketing experience in both private and public traded companies.

Melissa has her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Central Michigan University and maintains her Florida Real Estate License.

She resides in Orlando, FL with her husband of 17 years and two daughters.

 

 


Doug Talley, Consultation Catalyst

Doug serves as Consultation Catalyst for Healthy Growing Churches, as well as the Executive State Pastor of Indiana Ministries of the Church of God.

Doug’s pastoral experience includes serving over 25 years as lead pastor of Westlake Community Church in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Doug graduated from Anderson University and Anderson School of Theology.  Doug has his doctorate from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California.

Doug resides in the Indianapolis area with his wife Cindy.  They have two sons and four grandchildren.


Dr. Jay Barber, Jr., Fund Development Catalyst

Jay serves as Fund Development Catalyst for Healthy Growing Churches, as well as provides consultation services to a wide range of not-for-profit organizations assisting with strategic planning, fund raising strategies, board development, staff recruitment and coaching with new and emerging leaders.

He also is the President Emeritus of Warner Pacific College in Portland, Oregon, where he retired after serving for 12 years as President.

Jay has over 40 years of experience with not-for-profit organizations and is passionate about coaching new and emerging leaders in strategic planning, fund raising strategies, board development and staff recruitment.

 


Jeannette Flynn, Leadership Initiative Catalyst

Jeannette serves as the Leadership Initiative Catalyst for Healthy Growing Churches, as well as the Executive Pastor at Village View Community Church in The Villages, FL.

Jeannette has served in many capacities in the state of Washington, the Church of God at the national office in Anderson, Indiana, and the Florida Church of God Ministries in Orlando, Florida.

Jeannette attended Gulf Coast Bible College (now Mid America Christian University) and Anderson School of Theology.

Jeannette is married to Charles and they have two children and four grandchildren.


 Tom Planck, Multiplication Catalyst

Tom serves as the Multiplication Catalyst with Healthy Growing Churches, as well as the founding and Lead Pastor at Journey Church in West Chester, Ohio.

Tom has twenty plus years of ministry experiences and has coached dozens of pastors and church planters in the past eight years.

Tom is a 1993 graduate of Anderson University.  Tom married his beautiful wife Andrea in 1991 and is the proud father of Tytus and Hanna.


Randy Spence, Founder & Resource Catalyst

Randy serves as Resource Catalyst (and is one of the four founders) for Healthy Growing Churches.

He also is the Director of Ministries for Ohio Ministries of the Church of God.  Randy’s forty-plus year career in the church and business sector, includes roles such as pastor, president of a health care organization, coach, consultant, and founder of a retirement living complex for low-income seniors.

Randy has a Bachelor of Arts, Master of Ministry, Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry.  As a life-long learner, Randy is currently in the dissertation stage of a doctorate in denominational transformation.
